João Filipe Catarino
João started his martial arts journey young, training Judo, Shotokai Karate, and later dedicating 18 years to Shaolin Kung Fu. Alongside this, he developed a consistent Qigong practice and studied Taijiquan and Xing Yi under Master Armando Pata for eight years.
In 2018, João met Sifu Liang Dehua, and has continued studying with him ever since. Under Sifu Liang’s clear and precise instruction, João deepened his understanding of internal development and martial structure in Taijiquan.
He brings a broad base of martial experience — both external and internal — and is passionate about showing how Taijiquan’s internal mechanics connect to real, grounded martial practice. His teaching style is welcoming, clear, and accessible whether you’re just starting out or returning to refine your practice.
Adam Klauer
Adam’s path in Chinese martial arts began with an interest in Wing Chun, which soon led him to Taijiquan. What first drew him in was the idea that harmonizing mind and body could express a different kind of strength — one that wasn’t based on tension or size.
Over time, his training brought unexpected benefits: old injuries began to heal, and movement restrictions disappeared. But it wasn’t until attending his first workshop with Sifu Liang Dehua that Taijiquan became something deeply tangible. For the first time, this wasn’t just theory — the internal mechanics, the power, and the principles could be directly experienced in training.
Since then, Adam has focused his studies under Sifu Liang, and continues to deepen his understanding of the internal development at the heart of the Chuan Cheng system. He now focuses on the fundamentals of traditional Yang style Taijiquan, exploring both its internal and martial aspects, as part of an ongoing effort to help preserve the essence of Taiji.
He looks forward to supporting you in finding the right internal feeling in your own practice.
